“Protacon has carried out modernisation projects for the electrical and automation systems of our power plants. In addition, they offer maintenance services to our three plants with a total of six boilers. Our biopower plants use biofuel, mainly bark, and are continuously operating, i.e. they are kept in operation 24/7, all year round. Trouble-free operation of the plants is of primary importance for us also during weekends and on public holidays.
Protacon’s specialists make regular inspection visits at the plants and report their observations to us. Repair and renewal actions are planned based on the reports and the actions are carried out in cooperation with Protacon and our own employees. Earlier, when the maintenance service was provided by different equipment suppliers, response times could sometimes extend causing notable harm to the plants’ operation. Now, many earlier equipment suppliers have left the market, which means that their service is no longer available either.
Protacon’s maintenance and helpdesk service has been very good. Immediate fault reports can be easily made and the response time has been short. On weekdays, they reply practically immediately and the response is fast on Sundays and holidays as well. Help has been provided smoothly regardless of whether it be a fault or a modification work. Since Protacon has also delivered us systems, they are very well familiar with our automation systems.
In my view, Protacon is a reliable and competent partner. I can recommend their services particularly for small and medium-sized power plants in which employing a designated maintenance person is not sensible. Protacon offers us the special expertise we require and our employees can spend their time in other tasks.”
