Vehicle inspections accelerated through the use of tablets
The Muster vehicle inspection system developed by Protacon significantly accelerates the vehicle inspection process. Inspection results are directly entered into a tablet computer and the customer can receive the report printout immediately. Muster not only accelerates inspection procedures, but also includes booking, a cash register and an invoicing system. The system is already in use in more than a hundred inspection stations in Finland. User experiences have been extremely positive.
“Reporting on paper and backups are removed from office work, as the reports now go directly to the accounting office and Muster creates backups automatically. In addition, the inspection line is accelerated. Previously, customers were requested to drive their cars out of the hall after the inspection and then walk back in to pick up their MOT papers. Now, the documents can be issued to the customer immediately, as all the relevant data is entered directly into a tablet computer”, describes a satisfied Muster user Jarno Viinikainen, vehicle inspection entrepreneur at Meidän Katsastus.
Data is updated in real-time in a cloud service
Muster is offered as a cloud service, i.e. software installed in a workstation, which means that the one-off purchase cost is very low to the entrepreneur. In addition to the vehicle inspection system, as far as is known, Muster is the first checkout system operating in the “cloud” with integrated payment terminals. The system also includes online booking and connections to the systems of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency (Trafi).
